Daybreak: Lose Weight with Quality Sleep Daybreak: Lose Weight with Quality SleepJanuary 25, 2016 in Media, TravelShare ThisFacebookPinterestTwitterPrintemailCheck out these quick tips to maximize your quality of sleep for optimal body functioning…that may actually help you lose a few LBs too! 1. Prime your system with protein. We use protein for muscle repair which in-turn raises your resting metabolism but protein also allows for a deep sleep. The problem is that typical proteins are hard for your body to digest so we want to stay away from intense protein powders and heavy meats. What I suggest here is bone broth. It’s full of hard to find amino acids, along with glucosamine, and collagen. I make mine with a variety of grass-fed organic bones along with my kitchen scraps and heat up whenever I’d like. Great in the morning, post-workout, or in the evening for a good night’s sleep. 2. Try raw honey – Raw honey is the perfect fuel for your liver to detox and restore throughout the night and it contributes to the release of melatonin in the brain. You only need 1-2 teaspoons and be sure to get raw and organic. If it’s not raw, all of the compounds that give it the proper composition to support your liver are killed by heat in processing. 3. Eat a light dinner. There’s a saying, “Breakfast like a king, lunch like a price, dinner like a pauper.” If you overeat at dinner time your chances of a good night sleep are in danger because your body is spending energy trying to digest your meal rather than doing what it wants to do, which is detoxify and repair to get you in good shape for the next day.
