Calendula Lavender Oil
  • ½ cup dried calendula flowers
  • 1 cup fresh lavender leaves (or ½ cup dried)
  • 2 cups organic extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cups apricot oil
  • 15 drops lavender essential oil
  1. Place the calendula and lavender in a large sterilized mason jar.
  2. Pour the olive oil and the apricot oil over the plants. Cover the jar with a tight lid.
  3. Place the full mason jar in a sunny spot outside or by a very bright window for 3-4 weeks. Shake the mason jar at least once every day. If you are living in an area with especially intense sun, give your oil a break by placing it in a shady spot for a few hours. It's important not to let the oil become too hot or it will be rancid by the time you are ready to strain.
  4. After 3-4 weeks, strain the oil through a cheesecloth or nut bag for a clean and clear result. Add lavender drops and mix well. Store the oil in a glass jar in a dark cabinet for 3-4 months. Use on the body and face as is or use as an ingredient in your own homemade beauty products.
