Everyday Show: Healthy Meats Everyday Show: Healthy MeatsJuly 27, 2015 in Media, TravelShare ThisFacebookPinterestTwitterPrintemailIt was another fun day on the set of Colorado’s Everyday Show with Kathie J and Chris Parente. This morning we talked about how to incorporate meats into a healthy diet. Quick tips! 1. Consider your portions – to keep your meat intake in balance aim for 75% of your plate grains and veggies and 25% of your plate meat. 2. Choosing pasture-raised beef is the best way to go! If your budget dictates a lower quality meat, choose a lower fatty-profile meat such as 90% lean. This can be helpful in reducing toxins because just like humans, animals store toxins in their fat. 3. If you want to stretch your dollar a bit more and also add some nutrition, toss in some pre-cooked quinoa into your meatball mix. 1 cup quinoa to 1lb ground beef is a great place to start!
