Everyday Show: How To Keep Healthy Eating Exciting Everyday Show: How To Keep Healthy Eating ExcitingMarch 3, 2015 in Media, TravelShare ThisFacebookPinterestTwitterPrintemailIt’s one of the greatest barriers to eating clean: boredom. It happens to the best of us. When we find something that works we hold onto it for dear life. But, inevitably, we get tired of it. *Click the photo below for the complete 4 minute segment!* One of the best ways to incorporate a healthier diet into anyone’s lifestyle is to always be excited and inspired about it! You have to want to eat that kale. Otherwise, you eat it because you “should” and that, my friends, is a short-term diet plan – not a healthy lifestyle. Here are 3 of my favorite ways to incorporate a clean diet into your lifestyle that keeps the excitement level going high. 1. Unknown Territory – Usually when we’re at the grocery store we’re in a hurry. We want to get in, get out, and go home. We tend to grab what we’re used to but don’t discount the unusual ingredients just yet! Pick it up and ask an employee how to prepare it. I love going to the Whole Foods Market in Cherry Creek because they’re always so knowledgable about products and give me great ideas to mix things up. Utilize this resource! Example: Fresh Turmeric is one of those ingredients that not many people know what do with. Try my Turmeric Milk Recipe for a sweet treat while still getting all the wonderful anti-inflammatory benefits of it’s standout compound curcumin. 2. Slow and Steady Wins The Race – Choose one item/meal you have each week and figure out how to make it healthy. You don’t have to create a major overhaul overnight (in fact, that’s definitely not recommended). Just focus on one. Example: Maybe one Wednesdays your family always has Mac and Cheese. Use that meal as the meal you want to make a healthier. I have a delicious Mac and Cheese recipe that is dairy-free and uses an organic ancient grain noodle. Still indulge while getting all those delicious nutrients your body is craving. 3. Pick An Ingredient and Work Around It – We all have a certain flavor or ingredient that we just love. Let’s take balsamic for example. If you want to keep things interesting, choose different dishes that include balsamic. Marinate portobellos, make a syrup to drizzle on your pizza, or add to your favorite dessert. Try out these Chocolate Balsamic Truffles that are vegan and nut-free!. No matter what kind of dish you make, you know you have a winning flavor profile each time while expanding your repertoire.
