New Year New Way an invitation to a different approach It’s that special time of year where we feel we have a second chance. A chance to do it right this time. A chance to truly live the life we are meant to live. It’s a beautiful time of year in which a newly energized dedication is infused into everything we do. Enter: 7-day juice cleanses, 5am bootcamps, and drastic dietary changes. They have a certain appeal – they promise fast results and a life of “happily ever after.” But is this really the true story? I want to introduce to you a new approach to changing your health. It’s gentler, it’s intuitive, and most importantly, it’s sustainable. The way I’ve been able to implement a healthy diet is to make sure I’m having fun with it, I’m smart about planning, and I lead my choices based on my intuition and conscious decisions. Introducing the #Add3Challenge on Instagram! A 3-week challenge to implementing a nutrient-dense way of eating. Beginning Monday, January 5th your challenge will be to: Week 1 – add 1 whole food ingredient to every meal, every day. Week 2 – add 2 whole food ingredients to every meal, every day. Week 3 – add 3 whole food ingredients to every meal, every day. Pretty simple, right? One of the easiest ways to continue to eat healthy is to not get so stuck on rules, but rather eat intuitively by consciously adding extra ingredients to enhance your meal. The key word here is: extra. So if you make the same healthy oatmeal every morning with blueberries and flaxseed your challenge is to consciously add an extra ingredient that you don’t normally add like fresh mint or mango. If you usually have pancakes with bacon for breakfast then your challenge is still the same – have your pancakes and bacon, but add some strawberries and walnuts. The beauty of this challenge is that you can be at any level on your healthy eating journey. Whether you eat quesadillas or kale salad every day, there is always something extra you can add. What’s the benefit? Consciously adding 1-3 extra ingredients at every meal builds our muscle memory to eventually unconsciously build a nutrient dense plate and get to a place where it’s part of your lifestyle! Not a 3-week diet that you’ll forget about and have to go on again when bikini season comes around. It’s our way of thinking in the hundreds of small choices we make every single day that creates a healthy mind, body, and life. You may or may not lose weight. But that’s not the point of the challenge. It’s about including more nutrient dense foods to inspire your most optimal state of being.
